My apologies for today’s less than inspiring blog post. My little man has been fighting a miserable cold – sleepless nights, lots of screaming, exhaustion and crying his heart out at absolutely anything and everything. I am pushed to the point of exhaustion at the moment, having had a total of about 4 hours (broken) sleep last night followed by a day of making a quick dash to the docs and also entertaining a very bored pre-schooler! On days like these I simply have to keep reminding myself to ’suck it up and keep going’ but unfortunately my 30-something body tends not to agree. So, although I had a great post in mind for today I just couldn’t muster enough enthusiasm to finish what I’d started. In the mean time, you may like to head over to my other blog – Lemon Cordial – for a few little snippets of my ’sweet & sour’ life (slightly more sour at the moment obviously). I’m hoping that a good night’s sleep (for me and the little guy) will do the trick and that those lemons will soon be turning into lemonade…

Welcome to another week everyone! Hope all of you fellow Southern Hemisphere folk enjoyed Father’s Day. I was a little disorganised this year and made a last minute dash to the shops on Saturday afternoon (1 kid in tow) to buy my husband a pressie. Poppy managed to pick some lovely glittery paper and a gorgeous purple bow to wrap the gift (and she did a great job wrapping it – but not before announcing to her Dad that she wasn’t going to tell him what book she bought for Father’s Day)!
While doing a quick browse of the internet over the weekend I stumbled upon this BenBat GoVinci backpack for ‘Must-Have Monday’. Such a fabulous idea having a clear outer display frame where kids can show off their latest ‘works of art’! The frame also doubles as a drawing surface and the backpack is roomy enough for kids to fit all of their essentials in (neatly organised thanks to some handy internal pockets). Available in Oz through Urban Baby.

The other day Miss Poppy dragged out her sunglasses from wherever they’d been hiding for the last few months and it was soooo obvious she needed a new pair – a tad too small, a little on the wonky side and slightly too ‘young’ looking (now that she’s almost 4). I am thinking of getting her one of these ultra-stylish pairs of Frankie Ray sunnies from AU label Eye Tribe. Designed for 3-13 year olds (pictured below are a few of the ’smaller’ styles suitable for 3-8’s) the range includes vintage, aviators, oversized, classic, coloured or retro glamour. Now I just need to decide on which pair for Poppy!

Not to forget the boys, here’s a few of my favourites from the other range…

Have a great weekend everyone and I’ll see you back here on Monday!

There’s something so irresistibly cute about baby onesies – especially when they’re handmade and as gorgeous as these! As my little man is quickly approaching the 1 year mark this summer he’ll be graduating to tee and shorts but I still love a good little ‘bodysuit’. This Jupiter’s Child Peace Chicken creation would have to one of my absolute favourites!

Only just discovered Small Town (where had it been hiding??) but I am totally loving all of their onesie designs. I decided not to nuts and feature the entire range so here’s a fab olive carp design that definitely caught my eye.

For something a little different I found this Unique Is A Fingerprint, As Is The Shape Of My Heart onesie by Truly Sanctuary. Beautiful little design and such a cool concept!

And what could more lovely than a Lovely onesie by Materialistic (seen here in the divine teal colour)? I am adding this one to my ‘gift list’ for preggie friends! via Growing Up Green

Last week my poor little Poppy had a very public wardrobe malfunction at our local shops. Her denim skirt ended up around her ankles as she skipped along the footpath (hilarious according to her and the cafe crowd who caught sight of it happening). If only she had one of these handmade Hip Brown belts I wouldn’t have to watch her hoist that darn skirt up every 5 seconds (it’s her favourite – can’t ditch it. Yet!). My eyes are on the Hip Jean, Hip Polka and the vintage Hip Charlie. Love the handcrafted red zephyr vinyl lining as well. Very hip indeed!

Congrats to Eliza Whitton, Megan ‘Mouse House’ and Debbie Rose – winners of the Noah and Bells giveaway!

HUGE thanks to the lovely Deahne for offering 3 lucky readers a $50 Noah and Bells gift voucher!
