Till next time…

September 14, 2010

The rain in Sydney today matched the colour of my heart. In the early hours of the morning my mother’s uncle passed away and as I write this at the end of the day I am utterly exhausted. I thought the world of this beautiful man and I know he thought the world of me. I grew up without either one of my grandfathers and he always seem to fill that void in my life. My beautiful grandmother (his sister-in-law) always joked that theirs was the love affair that never was. I was with her on Sunday night when she said her goodbyes. She kissed his forehead and asked him to wake up. She told me that she would sit by his bedside all night if someone asked her to. She is 96 on Thursday! Before leaving the hospital she told the staff that he was the man she should have married. That they were nearly husband and wife. Tomorrow she will be devastated. My mother and uncle will break the news to her then and I know it will break her heart. My grandmother is the most beautiful woman I know and I want to be there for her. I am taking a few days off from the blogging world. I hope you understand.

That’s all for now…

Small Craft

September 14, 2010

This is such a fabulous idea! When reading my fav blog Modern Kiddo last week I discovered Small Craft – an online class full of fun projects for kiddies 0-10. While most of the projects are designed to make as gifts for kids there are also a few activities that little ones can participate in as well.

The class is taught by Rachel and Elsie and runs for 6 weeks starting Sept 13th (I hope I’m not too late in blogging about this but us Southern Hemisphere folk are a day ahead anyway). Including 30 project tutorials with 6 video sessions, students are encouraged to work at their own pace and there are no deadlines!

Just take a look at some of the exciting projects Rachel and Elsie have planned…

Let me know if you sign up!

Divine DIY

September 10, 2010

Happy Friday everyone! Thought I’d end the week with this fabulous DIY grocery store that I spotted over at Chic Mother and Baby. Seriously, if it didn’t take my other half forever to finish a project I’d be begging him to make one of these for our kiddies.

Have a great weekend all!

Loving…

September 8, 2010

I don’t usually post images of kiddy rooms but this was too good not to share. Can I just start by saying how much I love, love, love the floating book display? Not to mention the all-white colour palette with splashings of red and pink. The oh-so-sweet bed, those high ceilings, that decorative bunting – ah, it’s all just too, too gorgeous really. Don’t you think?

Summer at eeni meeni miini moh

September 8, 2010

Ooh, summer is looking smashing this year with eeni meeni miini moh’s lovely new range. Think ballet slippers, angel wings, bows and frills for girls. Tricycles, combi vans and ping pong (!) for boys. With gorgeous hues such as Poppy (hello? one of my fav colours), french navy, peony pink, pebble and charcoal eeni meeni miini moh will definitely have your little (and not so little) ones celebrating summer in style.
