Reality Bites: My DIY

October 10, 2011

I recently tweeted a little DIY project of mine and had a few requests to blog about it. So here it is. My do-it-yourself paint chip wall decor idea I sourced from here. Super easy, just a little fiddly and time consuming when it came to glueing the shapes onto the backing board. In fact, the hardest part was trying to remain discreet about the number of paint sample cards I was grabbing from the local hardware! I I have to say it doesn't look too bad (tessellating shapes always get my vote) and seems to compliment the colours in my favourite cushions and painting. Bargain wall art. Gotta love that.

The fabulous Steph from Bondville blog has just launched Modern Printables, a collection of stylish stationary designs that you can purchase, download and print yourself. New in store is this Halloween party pack from one of my favourite designers, Pilgrim Lee. With printable invitations, bunting banner flags, cupcake wrappers, and editable place cards among the many goodies, this party pack has everything you need for a 'spooktacular' Halloween.

Here, Kitty Kitty. Check out this adorable cat wall hanger from Kalma and Violeta. Handmade by Spanish designer Mar Gomez, this wide-eyed little guy is part of her current children's decor collection and definitely has some cute cattitude going on.

If you want your kid to have one of the coolest Santa Sacks around then here they are. Mini Envy creator, Heidi, has just rolled out her latest designs and they're sure to be as big a hit as they were last year. The 2011 range features funky origami-inspired fabric and is available with either a reindeer applique or personalised letter. Take your pick. They're both completely awesome.

Available in small ($55) & large ($65)

One of my favourite handmade labels for kids, Little Toot, has just branched out into sleepwear with a range of lazy long pyjamas. While most styles are also available in a shorter version for the summer months ahead, right now I'm loving the long pants paired with the short sleeve tee. Perfect for Spring sleep-ins.
